Nesh is a city in the Linger Straits, and is described as "bright and gleaming". It seems to be the main city, equivalent to Glottage in the Peninsula. Nesh has a train system, serviced by train-colossuses driven by the stewards, who are saints of the Saint Electric. Sometime during the wars between the Linger Straits and the Peninsula, Nesh was wholly or partially destroyed, as mentioned by Daggler.

Old Black Crow

Paige Duplass originally lives in Nesh and works at Old Black Crow Inc.

The Bellwethers Incident

Following Paige's arrest in the Peninsula, she is eventually returned to the Linger Straits and to her apartment in Nesh.

The Kensey House Incident

Hayward breaches his contract and moves to Nesh in order to continue hunting down Paige. He works at a supermarket for a period with Gren. When it becomes clear that he will lose his job at the supermarket, Gren offers Hayward an under the table catering job for Martin and Sofia Kensey.

Things do not go to plan, and Hayward kills Sofia Kensey with a prawn skewer before the Glooming Guest causes the house to collapse on Gramma Kensey and Martin Kensey.

Hembry's Apartment

Paige visits an old co-worker called Hembry in order to find catalogues of gods. Unbeknownst to her, Hayward has followed her to Hembry's apartment. Unfortunately for the both of them, Hembry's apartment has become to haunt of The Watcher in the Wings.

The Conclave Falls

Val, led by Chuck Harm, enters Nesh and attacks the Conclave. This secures the military victory for the Legislatures in the Peninsula in the war.

• When asked about the origin of the names of the two capitals, the creators responded: "To get to 'Glottage' you’ve got glottis, clot, blot, maybe even spillage - so an immediate sense of richness and density: staining, suffocating, pollution, spreading, viscosity, which made sense for how Carpenter describes the city way back when. 'Nesh' was just the polar opposite of Glottage - a fast, modern, metallic word without any meat on it."
